The Eck and Wiel transport company has opted for an IVECO S-WAY with a powerful Cursor 11 diesel engine with 480 hp, 2.300 Nm torque and 12-step HI-TRONIX gearbox. The drivers of G. Blom International Transport have all the comfort on board in their home away from home. Iveco Defence Vehicles appreciated from the outset that a vehicle such as LMV would have to evolve with changing requirements. The company therefore implemented a programme of product development which focused on delivering incremental improvements, usually from lessons learned in the field, whilst maintaining the excellence of the basic design.

The IVECO LMV or Light Multirole Vehicle is an innovative tactical vehicle, developed to reduce threat posed by improvised explosive devices and landmines. It was developed as a private venture. The LMV is in service with Italy, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Norway, Spain and the United Kingdom. The LMV is called VTLM Lince by the Italian military and Panther CLV in the United Kingdom.

Modular protection of the IVECO LMV can be adjusted to suit mission requirements. Vehicle uses modular armor packs and has a collapsible V-shaped floor, which deflects mine blasts. Seats are attached to a roll-bar rather than floor. The IVECO LMV is more survivable than conventional light utility vehicles and trucks.

Vehicle is powered by the IVECO F1D turbocharged diesel engine, developing 190 horsepower. The IVECO LMV is fitted with run-flat tyres and self-recovery winch.

The IVECO LMV is available in a number of variants. Two different wheelbases, 3.2 and 3.5 m are available. A two door, two seater is also available. A stretched variant provides accommodation for 7 men, including the driver. The IVECO LMV can be equipped as a field ambulance or command vehicle. There is also an open-top special forces vehicle. Various light crew served weapons can be mounted. The British Panther CLV provides seating for four occupants, including the driver.

Variants

LMV-2 is an improved long-wheelbase version. It was first publicly revealed in 2016. It has a payload capacity of 1 500 kg. This vehicle is powered by a 220 hp engine, mated to an automatic transmission. Crew protection has been improved.

Rys (lynx) is a Russian license-produced version of the LMV.
